Introduction
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan, Hospital Kuala Lumpur was established in 1987 beginning with the placement of Health Education Officers and serves as one of the support directorates for clinical services in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan, in collaboration with other departments/branches/units, strives to achieve its objective of educating, enhancing knowledge, awakening and maintaining the health status of patients through effective management of their diseases by conducting various activities based on health promotion and education.
Vission
To be an excellent source of education and health promotion in order to provide a society capable of creating a healthy, vibrant and safe lifestyle.
Mission
To provide quality and efficient non-clinical support services to all customers in an effort to develop individuals and communities through good educational and health promotion activities and products.
Objective
To strengthen awareness, knowledge, prevention and healthcare practices as well as disease detection to optimal HKL employees.

Services
Preparation of Health Education Materials and Graphics
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan is responsible for providing posters, bunting, banners and leaflets to departments that require graphic services.
In addition, printing and binding services are also available.
Preparation of Exhibition Equipment
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan is responsible for providing exhibition equipment such as panel boards to the departments in need.
Photography Services
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan is responsible for providing photography services to take clinical, non-clinical photographs and official functions held at HKL or outside HKL upon request.
Implementation of Kelas Warga Sihat
To provide awareness and increase knowledge on health aspects among HKL staff.
This class is conducted two (2) times a month, every Thursday, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm via online. Speakers from departments related to the title will be invited to give lectures.
Audio Visual Services
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan is responsible for providing audio visual services to the departments that require this service. Among the audio-visual services are supervising, installing and operating audio visual equipment such as screen, sound system, microphone and others.
Promotion of Quit Smoking Clinic
The Stop Smoking Clinic is a collaboration between the Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan and the Occupational Safety and Health Unit (OSH) and the Department of Pharmacy.
This unit is responsible for providing advice and counselling services as well as treatment through behavioural modification therapy and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to staff.
This unit is also responsible for promoting KBM to all HKL staff.
The clinic is performed at the Premier Clinic, Wisma Rekod, Hospital Kuala Lumpur every Wednesday at 2.00 pm.
BookDoc Promotion
Unit Pendidikan Kesihatan is responsible for assisting other departments in downloading the BookDoc application and explaining the usage of this application.
Client Charter
- Each clinical and allied health department will be provided with assistance in planning and implementing health education programmes in support of patient care programmes at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
- Every patient and their family member will have the opportunity to enjoy and obtain all the information and guidance on disease prevention, early detection of disease and disease care.
