Medical Officer Management

Introduction

The Medical Officer Management Unit, formerly known as the Postgraduate Unit, was established on April 25, 2003, to meet the needs related to the training of Graduate Medical Officers at Kuala Lumpur Hospital. This unit has undergone an expansion in the scope of its services in line with the evolving needs and responsibilities. The Medical Officer Management Unit primarily serves House Officers and also Non-Specialist Medical Officers.

Objective

The establishment of the Medical Officer Management Unit is based on several core principles, which are as follows:
 
  1. Coordinating the training programs for House Officers, starting from their onboarding process and continuing until the completion of their housemen ship.
  2. Managing the needs and well-being of House Officers throughout their housemen ship.
  3. Coordinating Temporary Placement for Junior Medical Officers and the placement of Non-Specialist Medical Officers.
  4. Handling applications for Full Registration Certification with the Malaysian Medical Council for House Officers undergoing housemen ship at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

  2. Maintaining the Confidentiality of Personal and Sensitive Information: The unit is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of all personal and sensitive information of its clients, including information related to training and personal development.
  3. Managing the Reporting and Orientation Process for Newly Appointed House Officers: This unit is responsible for managing the reporting and orientation process for newly appointed House Officers to help them adjust to the actual work environment and understand their responsibilities and procedures.
  4. Practicing Open-Door Policy: House Officer or any Medical Officer can come to our Unit at any time for any issues without the need for an appointment
