Introduction
Formerly, the General Administration Branch of Kuala Lumpur Hospital consists of 3 units, namely the General Administration Unit, Vehicle Unit and Store Unit only. Currently, the Administration Branch located on the 4th Floor, Kuala Lumpur Hospital Administration and Finance Building has 6 units, namely the Secretariat Unit, Demis Premises Unit, Administration Unit, Store Unit, Vehicle Unit and also Islamic Affairs Unit which is responsible in providing and providing general facilities to Clinical and non-clinical Departments, HKL members, patients and the general public.
Background
Kuala Lumpur Hospital was established in 1870 as a District Hospital. As a growing hospital, the General Administration Branch was established to manage various Management activities involving hospital administration matters including the facilities of its members

Objectives
Responsible for providing general facilities to departments, patients and the public in terms of communication, housing, mail maintenance, department file management, business space, printing, office supplies and uniforms
Functionality
- Provides communication through telecommunications equipment

- Provide transportation facilities (people and goods) and car maintenance
- Manages the supply of uniforms to members qualified.

Services
1. Mail Services
Manage outbound and inbound common and registered mails either through post or direct-delivery to respective destinations and distribution of letters to Departments.
2. Transportation
Provide and manage transportation services including official vehicles, ambulances, vans, lorries, motorcycles and mortuary vans for staffs, patients, and public.
3. Government House And Hostel
Provide and manage government house and hostel facilities for HKL staffs.
4. Business Space
Manage business space for cafeteria facilities, vending machines, groceries, mini marts, health marts, ATM machines, and Post Office.
5. Store
Manage and supply stationaries, Medical Certificate record books, forms/ books and domestic items for clinical and non-clinical usage, as well as supply uniforms to staffs.
6. Printing
Manage printing of various forms and other documents for Clinical and Non-Clinical Departments.
7. Official File Management
Manage mail fillings, records for file number, department’s general files storage and to provide general number to newly opened files.
8. Telecommunication
Arrange and manage extensions and direct lines of office telephones and mobile phones bill
9. Islamic Services Affairs
Provide counselling, advisory, consultation, talks, courses, AND Training of Trainers relevant to Islamic affairs for patients, patients’ kins, and HKL staffs as well as religious management for patients.
10. Hospital Visitors’ Board Of Directors
Assist Hospital Visitors’ Board of Directors and Psychiatry Hospital Visitors’ Board of Directors, in their activities.
11. Meeting Secretariat
Secretariat to the departmental meetings such as Head of Department Meeting, Management Meeting and Inter-Departmental Meeting as well as HKL Monthly Assembly

- All official letters and hospital payment checks were distributed the same day.
- All supplies are supplied immediately upon receipt of application
- All applications for internal printing are completed within a week.
- Ready to provide efficient, fast, affordable and customer-friendly transportation services
- All eligible applications will be brought for consideration by the HKL Housing Committee for the allocation of Government Houses based on vacancy.
- All space rental applications made via quotation will be processed within 90 days of contract termination.
- All eligible members are provided with uniforms.
- All complete applications of the new extension and the PABX system category are processed within a week.
- Willing to provide religious services to members and patients.
