Introduction
This unit was established in 1995 with the purpose of serving as a driving force for the implementation of quality programs at Kuala Lumpur Hospital. The Quality Management Unit is one of the clinical support units. This unit holds the responsibility of acting as the secretariat for all quality programs at the hospital level. With collaboration and support from all departments, this unit implements various quality improvement programs at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, such as the Quality Assurance/Quality Initiatives Program, including the Hospital Specific Approach (HSA) and National Indicator Approach (NIA), since 1985. The unit has also successfully continued organizing QA/QI Workshops and QA/QI Conventions annually since 1989.

Mission
- Formulate, plan, and coordinate quality activities at the Department and Hospital levels to improve the quality of healthcare and patient safety.
- Monitor the implementation of quality and patient safety activities.
- Oversee continuous improvement actions to ensure the sustainability of Kuala Lumpur Hospital's certification.
Objectives
- Monitor the implementation of quality improvement activities, including coordinating training to enhance service quality.
- Manage data at the hospital and state levels efficiently and submit reports within the specified timeframe.
