Introduction
The Hospital Kuala Lumpur Training Management Branch was established on 16 August 2004. Responsible for handling matters related to training for civil servants in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. This branch also serves as the gateway for all public and private clinical attachment. This branch is located under the Hospital Kuala Lumpur Management Division.
Vision
To make the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Training Department strong, fair and transparent in terms of providing opportunities to develop the level of skills and competencies of all members of Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Mission
To develop the human resource performance of Hospital Kuala Lumpur towards excellence in service through training in accordance with the needs of the organization.
Objective
To help Hospital Kuala Lumpur staffs obtain opportunities to participate in works / conference training either at the internal / domestic / foreign level in an effort to improve their skills and competencies and organization.

Services
- Coordinate and manage the application and approval of training in the services of Hospital Kuala Lumpur staff.
- Coordinate and manage the application and approval of students of Public and Private Institutions (IPT) who have a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Institution and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to use the facilities of Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
- Manage Continuous Management Education (CME) courses on the first Wednesday of each month for Hospital Kuala Lumpur staffs.
- Coordinate and manage the application and approval of Master, Subspecialties and Attachment Training.
- Manage training and courses for all Hospital Kuala Lumpur staffs.
Client Charter
- Process documents for the organization of any form of training activity/course at the latest within 14 days from the date application is received and financial approval will be obtained within 5 working days from the date the complete document is received
- Process documents for the organization of any form of training activities/courses as a package within 7 weeks before the course date
- Process training placement applications from HKL internal departments and External Agencies by complying with guidelines within 14 working days
- Process applications to attend courses for HKL members according to the advertisement offers of the Bahagian Pengurusan Latihan, KKM, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam and others.
MEDICAL STUDENT ELECTIVE POSTING
Application For Elective Posting ( Medical Students )
Medical students who desire to apply for elective posting at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, need to follow the procedure as follows:
1. The total placement period should not exceed six (6) weeks and should not be less than three (3) weeks in any particular discipline.
2. Applications should be submitted within three months before the proposed date.
3. Applicants are subject to all existing rules and regulations at the facility. A list of rules has been attached as in Appendix A.
4. Please fill up the application form for the elective posting. Attached herewith the application form as in Appendix B.
5. Applicant will be sent to the selected department but subject to vacancies in the relevant department. Priority will be given to the medical students who are already in application queue.
6. If the above conditions are acceptable, the applicant can submit the Application Form, letter from Dean/University, Vurriculum Vitae (CV), a copy of Medical Insurance, a copy of Indemnity Insurance and photocopy of your Identity Card (for Malaysian) or Passport (for foreigners) to:

7. Before duty, students are required to report at Cawangan Pengurusan Latihan Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Students needs to make sure that their health are in good condition and bring all the related documents as follows:
- Approval Letter Posting Elective
- 2 Passport Photo for Security Pass
- 1 Copy of the COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- 1 Copy of Policy Medical Insurance
- 1 Copy of Policy Indemnity Insurance
