Jabatan Pergigian Pediatrik menyediakan perkhidmatan seperti berikut :

a. Pengurusan kanak-kanak yang mempunyai masalah oral dan maksilofasial yang berumur 16 tahun ke bawah

b. Pengurusan secara multidisiplinari :

vi. Pesakit pemindahan organ

iii. Terapi pulpa untuk gigi susu dan kekal

v. Pembentukan anomali pergigian yang memerlukan rawatan restorasi kompleks

Question 1

How can I get dental treatment for my child at the HTAKL Paediatric Dental Department?

Answer 1

For referrals from KKM facilities, the referring doctor needs to call the clinic registration counter to get an appointment.

For referrals from non KKM facilities, patients need to bring a referral letter to the clinic registration counter to get an appointment.

What types of cases are treated by the Department of Paediatric Dentistry?

Answer 2

Services provided include dentoalveolar surgery, management of orofacial injuries, management of oral pathology, provision of maxillofacial prostheses, and routine dental treatment for priority groups such as children with complex medical problems, physically / mentally challenged and those with complex / comprehensive dental treatment needs with adverse behaviour towards dental treatment.

Do I need to get an appointment before I go to clinic or can I just walk-in?

Answer 3

The clinic will only accept patients who have a referral letter and appointment. We will not accept walk-in patients unless the child presents with an emergency condition which needs urgent attention such as trauma, bleeding or acute facial swelling

Question 4

What will happen during the first visit to the clinic?

Answer 4

We will take  your child’s and your relevant personal details. A dental officer will take a full medical history to make sure that we are fully aware of any illnesses or medication that your child may be taking so we can treat your child with the necessary precautions. The dental officer will then carry out an examination and chart your child’s teeth and record previous treatment, including conducting the necessary investigations (e.g; X-Rays, electric pulp test, etc.) to determine the diagnosis. Consultation will be given by a specialist / consultant to determine the appropriate treatment plan required. An appointment date will be given for treatment if the parents / guardians agree with the treatment plan suggested.

What is the age limit of patients treated at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry HTAKL?

Patients accepted for registration at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry HTAKL are children under 16 years of age at the time of first visit.

What do I need to bring during the first appointment to the clinic?

Question 8

During the first visit, can the parents / grandparents or friends or friends accompany the patient without a valid parent / guardian?

Answer 8

Paediatric patients should be accompanied by a parent / legal guardian while receiving treatment at the clinic.

Question 9

If I am a welfare / OKU cardholder, will my child be exempted from the treatment charges at the clinic?

Answer 9

Exemption from the treatment charges for welfare / OKU cardholders only applies for personal use, so your child should possess the card to receive the exemption

Question 10

If I am a UNHCR cardholder, will my child be eligible for the benefit (half the payment) of foreign treatment charges?

Answer 10

Patients need to have their own UNHCR card to receive this benefit, so your child should possess this card

Question 11

If my child has defaulted appointment, do I need to get a new referral letter?

Answer 11

If the last clinic attendance date is less than 1 year, parent / guardian need to call the clinic to get a new appointment date.

If the last clinic attendance date has been more than 1 year, the parent / guardian need to obtain a new referral letter.
